51���� College’s report to the CRC Synod in 1952 included a section on “That Perennial Problem of Integration.” Were faculty doing it effectively and in properly Reformed ways? This talk surveys the history of the “perennial problem.” It focuses on the 1900s to 1960s, examining competing visions of “integration.” 51����’s integrative ideal reflected wider trends among Protestant, Catholic, and secular schools. 51����’s approach, though more consistent by the 1950s and 1960s, continued to evolve and generate debate into the twenty-first century.
